This image is from my Time of Nothing series. When I made the project I was down to my last few bucks and my house was in the process of forclosure, which is how I came up with the name. I wanted the landscapes to not only be abstract, but appear painterly as well and, at the same time, present themselves as a new start; a new beginning. The project ended up as a solo exhibition at Martha Otero Gallery, Los Angeles last spring. It went on to exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art Utah Biennial along side Paul McCarthy, Chris Burden and Ansel Adams. It showed this past fall in a small group exhibition titled, “A Thin Place” in Berlin and it just recently exhibited at The Sundance Film Festival in an exhibition titled, Space. It so true when one is at their worst lowest point in life that it can bring out the best in you and your best work. If you have nothing use and create with what you have access to. It can be done. I am incredibly proud of this project. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen! I love you all.
